Mixed flow pump is a kind of pump between centrifugal pump and axial flow pump. As far as its working principle is concerned, it relies on the dual effects of axial thrust and centrifugal force on the liquid by the impeller rotation. The liquid flows into the impeller in the axial direction and flows out of the impeller in the form of oblique flow. Therefore, the mixed flow pump is also called an oblique pump.
The characteristics of mixed flow pumps are that the flow is larger than that of centrifugal pumps, but smaller than that of axial flow pumps; the head is lower than that of centrifugal pumps, but higher than that of axial flow pumps; the efficiency of mixed flow pumps is wider and the efficiency zone is wider; Small, power machine can often run at full load; good anti-cavitation performance, stable operation, wide working range, continuous operation in occasions requiring small flow; medium and small horizontal mixed flow chestnut, simple structure, light weight, easy to use and maintain . Mixed flow pumps can be divided into two types: volute type and guide vane type.
There are two types of volute mixed flow pumps: horizontal and vertical. Medium and small pumps are mostly horizontal, vertical for large chestnuts. The structure of the horizontal volute mixed flow pump is similar to the single-stage single-suction centrifugal pump. Only the shape of the impeller is different. The outlet edge of the mixed flow pump blade is inclined, the number of blades is small, and the flow channel is wide. The flow of a mixed-flow pump is generally larger than that of a centrifugal pump, and its volute casing is also large. In order to support the stability, the foundation feet of the pump are generally set under the pump body, and the bearing body is supported by the pump body. In addition, the seal type of the horizontal volute mixed flow pump often uses a flat seal (also known as an axial seal), that is, the axial end surface on the impeller and the corresponding sealing surface on the pump cover are used for sealing. When assembling the paper between the volute casing and the chestnut cover or bearing body, when the axial clearance increases, you can remove the paper pad or add copper gaskets on the end face of the hub of the rear cover of the impeller to reduce the gap.
There are two types of guide vane mixed flow pumps, vertical and horizontal, whose structure is similar to that of axial flow pumps. The structure of the vertical guide vane mixed flow mask is shown in Figure 3. According to the blade angle adjustment method, it can also be divided into fixed type, semi-adjustable type and full-adjustment type I. Compared with the volute type mixed flow pump, its radial size is smaller, but its hydraulic performance is slightly worse. The horizontal guide vane type mixed flow pump has a horizontally open body, which is convenient for installation and maintenance.
