Axial-flow pumps rely on the force generated by the blades of the rotating impeller to move the liquid along the axial direction. There are several types of pumps, including vertical, horizontal, oblique, and cross-flow. China has developed a total of 664 sets of large-scale axial flow pumps since 1961. Its specific revolutions n are 500, 700, 850, 1000, 1250, 1400, 1600, etc .; the diameter of the runner is 1.6m, 2.0m, 2.8m, 3.0m, 3.1m, 4.0m and 4.5m. In Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Guangdong, Tianjin, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and other 16 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, a total of 114 large-scale axial flow pumping stations have been built with a total installed capacity of 630,000 kW.
The axial flow pump impeller is equipped with 2 to 7 blades, and the axial flow pump manufacturer rotates in a round tube pump casing. The pump casing at the upper part of the impeller is equipped with fixed guide vanes to eliminate the rotating operation of the liquid.

When the installation position of the impeller of the small axial flow pump is higher than the water surface, it is necessary to use the vacuum pump to exhaust and start the water. Axial flow pump blades are divided into fixed and adjustable structures. The operating conditions (mainly the flow rate) of large-scale axial flow pumps often require large changes during operation. Adjusting the installation angle of the blades can keep the pump running in high efficiency areas under different operating conditions. Small pumps generally have a fixed blade mounting angle.
