Advantages of vertical mixed flow pump
(1) Simple operation of horizontal pumps. Because the impellers are all above the water surface, before the pump is started, a vacuum pump is used to fill the pump with water. Due to the impellers of vertical pumps, they are generally sunk in water and can be started directly.
(2) Small installation area Including the driver, the vertical pump only needs half the space of the horizontal pump. Especially in today's large pumps, this advantage is even more outstanding.
(3) The impeller of the vertical pump that is beneficial to prevent cavitation is generally submerged in water, and the NPSH that can be used can be larger. Therefore, cavitation does not occur when the pump is operated at a flow larger than the planned point.
However, because it is a vertical shaft, the pump has a long longitudinal direction, and the lifting height of the crane is high when disassembling and assembling, and there must be sufficient space above the pump, which is a disadvantage of the vertical pump. However, vertical pumps are simply installed outdoors, so there is no doubt.
Regarding the maintenance of mixed-flow pumps , here the mixed-flow pump manufacturers emphasize that once the mixed-flow pump fails, do not disassemble it by yourself. When disassembling it by yourself, it is easy to cause the following two problems: one is to blindly dismantle one channel without knowing where the fault is; the other is that there is no special tool and often damages the original intact parts. The best way is to go to an experienced and large-scale repair point for repairs, and replace the over-aged parts and some wearing parts in time. Under normal circumstances, the pump should be repaired every six months to prevent work with "illness".
